Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Also known as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is a mild sedative that your child breathes through a small mask placed over their nose. They’ll be awake during treatment, but they won’t feel anxious or scared; many children say they feel like they’re floating. This safe, effective gas acts on your child’s central nervous system to keep them calm and decrease their threshold for pain.

Once we finish treatment and remove the mask, the effects wear off quickly, making it possible for them to return to school. We use nitrous oxide to decrease dental anxiety during numerous dental procedures.

Digital X-Rays and Sensors

We’ve replaced traditional film x-rays with digital x-rays and sensors, allowing us to electronically capture high-resolution images of your child’s teeth and jaw. These images are easily viewed on a computer screen, making it possible to diagnose dental issues in real time and answer your questions.

We can also zoom in to better understand what’s going on, which leads to improved treatment planning and a better way to educate parents about what’s happening inside their child’s mouth.

Intraoral Camera

This small, pen-shaped camera is a non-invasive way to capture detailed images of your child’s teeth and gums. When we place the camera inside their mouth, we can identify tooth decay, tooth damage, plaque buildup, or gum concerns. The images are displayed on a computer monitor so you can see what we’re seeing in real time.

This tool shows you what’s going on inside your child’s mouth, so we can explain treatment options and answer your questions. It’s a comfortable way to gather pertinent information about your child’s oral health.

Panoramic X-Rays

With panoramic x-ray technology, we can capture detailed images of your child’s entire mouth at one time, including their upper and lower jaw, all their teeth, and the surrounding bone. We use this technology for orthodontic evaluations, to monitor tooth eruption and jaw development, and to identify crowding issues.

These comprehensive x-rays are comfortable and use less radiation than traditional film x-rays, and they’re an invaluable tool for diagnosing concerns and planning your child’s treatment.

TV in Treatment Rooms

When your child needs dental treatment, anything that distracts them from what’s going on can be an invaluable tool. That’s why we offer TVs in our treatment rooms, allowing your child to watch one of their favorite shows while we work to restore their oral health.

Whether your child is visiting us for a routine cleaning and exam or needs more extensive care, television can help take their mind off what’s happening. It can reduce their anxiety and make their appointment more comfortable, pleasant, and efficient.

Digital Records

We use digital records to store your child’s dental history, giving us immediate access to their digital x-rays, intraoral camera images, treatment notes, and past procedures. Digital records are a great way to help us track your child’s developmental milestones and plan treatments as their oral health needs change.

With digital records, we can communicate efficiently with parents and other medical professionals, and file your insurance claims without incident.
